Faithful to the original P-90 using Alnico 3 magnets and vintage spec, plain enamel wire. Custom Wound designed the "Clone Series" to sound like the best of the original vintage pickups from the 50's and 60's. Sweet tone and clear sounding with a classic grind, these pickups are dead on! If you have ever heard a really good vintage P-90 from the 50's and 60's, then the Custom Wound Clone P-90's will speak for themselves.

Manufacturing Notes: While we were designing this pickup we compared several vintage P-90's that ranged from the late 50's to the mid 60's and came up with the ultimate reproduction. We were also able to correct some inherent quality issues that were most commonly noticed amongst the original vintage P-90's without sacrificing the original materials or the tone. We added essential quality touches to insure that every pickup was very consistent, more durable, well balanced in output between the neck and bridge positions, and lightly wax potted to eliminate annoying microphonics. The neck pickup is RWRP for hum-canceling when using both pickups together. Available in limited runs for soapbar or dogear in the neck and bridge positions.
