Ever since 1999, Ace Iwasaki has created vintage replica parts, pieces of art infusing life into Les Pauls, like talismans for both Gibson and Historic Collection. Born and made in Japan, these little gems stunned first the Germans, then the Americans, and the whole world.

Countless and endless updates still keep them getting better and better. Many fans say their Historic Collection looks like a vintage with Ace's parts on. Many guitarists are enthusiastic about the improved sound of their Historic Collection.

In fact, the fantastic quality of Historic Collection itself deserves these praises, Ace's parts being mere servants of their owner for an unrestrained dress-up. And now, turning back the clock to 1959, a wonderful time where "passion" was the key word, and using traditional techniques and materials, Ace has created The HystericParts.

He just cannot wait to see whose guitar will wear them first.

Something special......

Blacklight is known among vintage collectors as a tool to differentiate fake guitars or parts from originals. During guitar shows in the '80s, many dealers were seen examining the lacquer to determine if the guitar is an original or a refinished. They were trying their best to tell a fake from an original, by smelling it, licking it (some people actually do lick the lacquer of a violin), or enlarging it with a magnifier. But under natural daylight, highly skilled refinish was hard to detect.

Later on, in the 90's, when handy blacklight devices became readily available, it got relatively easier to distinguish the fluorescent ingredients used in Gibson's or Fender's lacquer from other non-genuine lacquers used for repairing and refinishing. Way back in 1989, the first handy blacklight attracted a big crowd at Arlington Guitar Show.

Gibson's current models do have some reactions of fluorescent ingredients when exposed to blacklight, but they are different from those of the '50s & '60s. The following pictures show the difference of reaction to blacklight of vintage and Historic Collection guitars.
