About the Cool Dish Aged (Set of 2)

An unimaginable amount of tension derived from 6 strings is carried by this tiny brass part. Since the '50s, Gibson had selected brass as material and worked it through time-consuming processes. Brass material, counting several varieties depending on zinc/copper proportions, is extensively used in wind instruments for their beautiful acoustic properties. My guess is that Gibson took the sound quality of this part into consideration, since it plays an essential role in holding the bridge in place.

Thumbwheels' function is not only supporting the vertical movement of the bridge but also transmitting ample vibrations of the resonating thin post to the body.
